NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (AP/WPRI) -- One of two men wanted in connection with the slayings of three people in Maine whose bodies were found in a burning car was arrested in Massachusetts.
Det. Robert Jacobs of the Fall River Police Department said their Vice Unit received a tip that 34-year-old Randall "Ricky" DaLuz, of Massachusetts, was in New Bedford.
DaLuz turned himself in around 1 p.m. Tuesday without incident. He has been indicted in Maine on murder and arson charges.
DaLuz was arraignmed Wednesday morning in New Bedford District Court. He waived extradition and will be returned to Maine.
Meanwhile, police are still searching for 31-year-old Nicholas Sexton of Warwick, R.I. Sexton is described as a white man, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 180 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes.
Lieutenant Tim Reid with Bangor Police said Sexton is considered armed and extremely dangerous.
"Anyone with information concerning their whereabouts is urged to call their local law enforcement agency. The Bangor police department has a tip line set up, which can accept anonymous tips," said Reid.
Three bodies were found inside a burning car with Rhode Island plates in a Bangor parking lot in the early morning of Aug. 13.
Maine authorities have said the victims were shot before the car was torched.
The victims are identified as 26-year-old Daniel Thomas Borders of Hermon; 24-year-old Nicolle Ashley Lugdon of Eddington; and 28-year-old Lucas Alan Tuscano of Bradford.
Police won't say what connection Sexton and Daluz had to the victims.
But they do say both men have a criminal record.
