Joe Kennedy III ties the knot

CORONA DEL MAR, Calif. (WPRI) -- Massachusetts' newest congressman was married over the weekend.
Joe Kennedy III was married to Lauren Birchfield on Saturday at the Community Church in Corona del Mar, California. The ceremony was officiated by Kennedy's new father-in-law, Rev. Jim Birchfield.
"The bride and groom are extremely grateful for all the well wishes and for the outpouring of support and friendship they have received this year," Kennedy's office said in a statement.
The couple met while in law school.
Kennedy, 31, won the race for the Massachusetts 4th Congressional seat with 61% of the vote -- defeating Republican Sean Bielat.
