Home sales increase in Mass.

Single family home sales rose 16% from last year

Mass. (WPRI) -- Home sales are on the rise in the Bay State.

According to the Massachusetts Association of Realtors, the number of single family homes sold in the state in January jumped almost 16 percent compared to the same time one year ago.

The median price of a single family home rose more than 5 percent.

Meanwhile, U.S. home prices rose 7.3 percent in 2012, the biggest annual increase since 2006.
