FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) -- Fall River firefighters have reportedly been called to put out three space heater fires in just the last two weeks.

According to the Fall River Herald , the most recent fire broke out on Christmas Day at a home on Franklin Street.

Officials told the newspaper that the fire started when somebody put wet clothes on the heater to dry.

Authorities said you should never leave anything on a space heater, and should always keep them at least three feet away from walls and other items.
