FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) -- Police in Fall River are investigating an "apparent homicide" after a woman is found dead in a car.
Police responded to 886 Cherry Street in the city shortly before 1:30 Saturday afternoon for a 'shots fired' call. When officers arrived they found a woman dead inside her red Nissan Versa. The car was parked curbside.
On Sunday, the Bristol County District Attorney's Office identified the victim as 31 year-old Aja Pascual of Fall River.
Authorities declined to release any other information on the homicide other than to say it does not appear to be a random act, and officers continue to investigate.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Fall River Police Department tips line at 508-324-2796.
