FAIRHAVEN, MASS (WPRI) – Fairhaven High School has canceled classes for Monday September 24 in order to clean up a mess caused by vandals on Sunday.
Two juveniles from Freetown and Fall River are being charged with breaking and entering in the daytime, felony vandalism and trespassing after police say they deliberately set off fire extinguishers in the hallways of the school during a Pop-Warner Football tournament.
Police were able to identify the juveniles through security surveillance inside the building. They were located a short time later by the concession stand on the football field where they were taken into custody.
Officials say the substance released by the fire extinguishers is not hazardous, but crews need to be called in to clean up the mess.
