TAUNTON, MASS. (WPRI) - Two elementary schools in Taunton are collecting donations to help victims of Sunday night's apartment complex fire on Hart Street.

Dozens of residents at Chateau Estates have been displaced after flames and smoke swept through the building.

Many lost everything they owned, and we've learned several families affected have young children.

In response, the East Taunton Elementary School and Barnum Elementary School are collecting donations to give to those families.

They are looking for gift cards to stores such as Walmart and Target, along with children's clothing sizes 5,6, and 10.

Household items and monetary donations are also welcome.

Anyone interested in donating can contact East Taunton Elementary School at 508-821-1330 and Barnum Elementary School at 508-821-1352.

The Taunton Police Dept. has also posted information on its facebook page.
