DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WPRI) -- About 90 inmates at the Dartmouth House of Corrections refused to go into their cells last night in protest of a change in operations.

Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgson tells us that due to a lack of funding, a new schedule was put in place that restricts inmates' common time.

Around 15 sprinklers were broken by the inmates during the ordeal. No injuries were reported.

Sheriff Hodgson is pleading to Gov. Deval Patrick for more funding in order to hire more staff.
