AVON MASS. (WPRI) – A Brockton man who has already had his license revoked for life is facing his ninth drunk driving charge.
65 year old William Doten was arrested Thursday night in Avon Massachusetts.
Police say Doten and his passenger who were both under the influence of alcohol, were driving around for hours when their car ran out of gas.
Dotens passenger then called 9-1-1 to report their truck had broken down and that they were lost.
Doten was charged with DUI, having an open container of alcohol in the car, and driving with a revoked license.
His passenger was driven home by police.
Doten was found guilty on five previous drunk driving charges, enough for the state to issue a lifetime revocation of his license.
Police say since that revocation order, Doten has been arrested several times for driving with a revoked license.
Doten is set to be arraigned on Monday.
