BOSTON (AP) -- The woman who helped Boston mobster James "Whitey" Bulger evade authorities for 16 years has paid a $150,000 fine assessed when she pleaded guilty.

The Boston Globe reports that federal court records show that Catherine Greig made the payment on Friday.

Greig was sentenced to eight years in prison after pleading guilty in June to charges related to the couple's 16 years on the run.

The fine was paid about a week after Greig sold a Quincy, Mass., home she bought in 1986.

Greig is serving her sentence at a low-security federal prison in southern Minnesota, 75 miles south of Minneapolis.

Bulger, the former leader of the notorious Winter Hill Gang and an FBI informant, has pleaded not guilty to charges of participating in 19 murders. He awaits trial.
