Man from Worcester dies from West Nile Virus

WORCESTER, MASS. (WPRI) – Massachusetts health officials say a Worcester man has died of West Nile Virus.

This is the second death from a mosquito borne illness this summer in Massachusetts.

Eyewitness News is told the man was in his sixties.

On Thursday health officials confirmed another Worcester county man in his seventies died of Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE).

There have been no human cases of EEE or West Nile Virus in Rhode Island so far this season.
