PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Yerkin Abdrakhmanov, the Providence College student who was viciously assaulted during a random attack early Monday morning was release from Rhode Island Hospital on Wednesday afternoon.

Abdrakhmanov suffered a broken nose, a broken eye socket and several other serious injuries when he was allegedly beat up by Providence College basketball players Johnny Lacy and James Still.

Police said an eyewitness gave them a description of Lacy and Still, who were arrested several blocks away.

Lacy had blood on his shirt, and Still had cuts and blood on his hands, police said.

Lacy and Still have both plead not guilty to assault charges.

Just days before the incident, PC Basketball Coach Keno Davis announced that Lacy would not be returning to the school next year.

Both Lacy and Still have been suspended. They are banned from the Providence College campus pending the outcome of a school investigation.

On Monday, after the incident, Kenneth Sicard, Executive Vice President of Providence College released a statement that said in part:

"We are deeply disturbed by the unprovoked assault...This serious and random assault violates all standards of conduct that Providence College expects of its students and is contrary to our deepest values...Our thoughts and prayers are extended to the Providence College student who was injured."
