PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI)- Rhode Island is ranking high in the New England region for hotel occupancy rates.
The state has also seen a 6 percent revenue per room growth for 2012.
Smith Travel Research presented these findings at the Rhode Island Hospitality Association Hospitality Trends Summit on Wednesday.
The state's 2011 occupancy rate was 61.2 %.
Massachusetts was at 65.8 %.
In 2010, Rhode Island's occupancy rate was 60.3 percent.
