PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Rhode Island State Police on Monday confirmed they are still searching for a driver involved in a fatal crash on the Iway early Sunday morning.

43-year-old David Clinton of Bristol was killed when the car he was riding in flipped over while it was merging from Route 195 to 95 South.

Police say the driver hit a set of sand barrels and a jersey barrier before the car flipped over. Eyewitnesses say the driver was able to pull himself from the car and flee the scene before police arrived.

The name of the person who owns the Mercedes involved in the crash has not been released, but investigators tell Eyewitness News they are searching for a man described as six feet tall, 200 pounds, with a medium build.

Clinton was an employee at the popular Wickenden Street establishment, Z Bar.
