BOSTON, MASS. (WPRI)- A Providence based company could be facing some major fines for repeatedly violating federal lead-based paint disclosure laws when leasing a home to tenants.
A complaint was filed with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency against Private Reserve Properties, LLC.
The complaint alleges that the company failed to notify prospective tenants about possible lead-paint hazards in homes owned by the company. It also states tenants were not given records and reports regarding lead-based paint or supplied educational material about hazards.
Private Reserve Properties, LLC faces a penalty of up to $421,900 for 61 violations for 16 leases signed between 2009-2011.
The company owns about 50 properties, with 130 rental units throughout Providence.
