Average gas price rises five cents

Price remains higher than national average

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI)- Rhode Island gas prices have risen 5.8 cents per gallon in the past week.

The average for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is $3.75, higher than the national average of $3.67.

In Rhode Island, prices are still 0.9 cents lower than the same day a year ago, and 24 cents higher than a month ago.

The national average has increased 24.8 cents during the last month and is 5.7 cents higher than a year ago.
