PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI)- The Rhode Island Department of Transportation welcomed Danish Transport Minister Henrik Dam Kristensen Thursday.
Minister Kristensen is visiting the state to learn more about the success of the Iway Project.
During his visit, the minister also toured the project.
The $623 million project is the state's largest transportation project since the construction of the Interstate System. Most of the project was completed in 2009.
Minister Kristensen’s visit to the United States included meeting with U.S. DOT officials and members of Congress in Washington D.C.., with plans to visit with transportation officials in Montreal, Canada after his time in Rhode Island.
