2 females in custody after police chase

Eyewitnesses say the two were in a stolen van

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI)- Providence police have taken two females into custody after a brief chase in South Providence.

Eyewitnesses say the suspects were in a van which had been stolen from North Smithfield.

The two got out of the van near the intersection of Ontario and Niagara Streets. The van was still in gear and crashed into a tree.

No word on what charges the two are facing.
