Pedestrian struck on Route 195

Not clear why individual was on the highway

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI)- East Providence police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck on the highway.

The accident happened around 9 p.m. Tuesday on Route 195 west near Exit 6.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say it's not clear why the victim was on the highway.
