PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Women and Infants Hospital is getting a $3.2 million federal grant to help families with premature infants as they transition from the hospital to home.

Hospital officials and the four members of the state's congressional delegation are scheduled to discuss the grant and health insurance reform on Wednesday.

The grant will allow the hospital to expand its program that helps families with premature infants go home.

The hospital will use the money to train an estimated 120 health care workers. It aims to improve the care babies receive and keep them from being readmitted to the hospital after they're sent home.

The office of Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse says the program is expected to save $3.7 million over three years.
