Victim speaks out about home invasion

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- The victim of a violent home invasion grants exclusive access of the scene of the crime to Eyewitness News.

The home invasion happened late Monday night.

Carolyn Clough answered the door to her apartment near Providence College.

On the other side of that door, she says, were the suspects, who police are still searching for.

"It was my boyfriend's hat, and they took a roll of tape and just put it over my face and just put a pillow case over my head," says Clough.

Clough tells Eyewitness News the three men stayed inside her apartment for about 30 minutes while they stole some electronics and money.

She says the suspects gave her specific instructions on how to behave.

"Don't move. Don't move. Don't make us hurt you. Like, we don't want to hurt you. This isn't about you," Clough says.

Clough deliberately never screamed.

"I just didn't want them to hurt me. I didn't know if they had a knife, a gun, I don't know. There was one guy holding me the entire time they were in there," says Clough.

Police are still searching for the suspects.
