PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Trinity Repertory Company has received a $250,000 gift as part of a major fundraising campaign.

The Providence theater says the gift to its Theater for Every Generation campaign is from former Nortek CEO Richard Bready. The $18 million fundraising campaign was launched in 2010.

Trinity Rep says it will name its artistic director position after Bready through June 2015.

Bready is encouraging other donations by offering a 2-to-1 match on every dollar given to Trinity Rep between now and the end of the year, up to $125,000.

Trinity Rep was founded in 1963.
