PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Burnside Park in Providence re-opened on Friday after maintenance kept it closed since April.
The park needed to be re-seeded after a months-long encampment by the protest group "Occupy Providence".
The park's re-opening was celebrated with its first annual Summer Solstice Party.
The party included art displays, musical performances, skateboarding demonstrations and art exhibits from the Rhode Island Museum of Science and Art..
Residents can enjoy the downtown park daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
