PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Students and families in Rhode Island trying to complete their college financial aid forms can get free help this weekend.
Financial aid professionals will provide assistance filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, during a session on Saturday morning at Rhode Island College. Students can also get guidance on the financial aid process and application deadlines.
The FAFSA form is required for students seeking federal grants and loans at education institutions across the U.S. The form is also used to determine eligibility for state grants.
The Rhode Island Student Loan Authority will be joined at the session by U.S. Rep. Jim Langevin.
Families are encouraged to submit their forms by March 1.
