PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Police have identified Providence's sixth homicide victim of 2012.
Sammy Mateo, 25, of Johnston was shot in the early morning hours of May 26 at 512 Prairie Avenue.
Investigators say Mateo was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital by a private party with several gunshot wounds.
Police learned Monday that Mateo had succumbed to his injuries.
Officers are not providing details on any suspects at this time.
No word on a possible motive.
