PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Rhode Island House has approved a package of renewable energy bills.

The legislation would encourage further development of renewable energy in the state, while strictly regulating the price of power from wind turbines and other generators.

Lawmakers say the three bills will help stimulate economic development.

The legislation now heads to the Senate.
