PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - The Rhode Island Red Cross is sending out a warning and reminder as the temperatures will reach the 90s in the next few days.
At most serious risk for heat illness, is anybody over 50 years of age. But for everybody, the Red Cross says "Carry water or juice with you." And keep drinking even if you don't feel thirsty.
"While the current forecast is not predicting a heat wave, it's our first heat of the season and a great time to make sure that you're ready for summer and know how to stay safe," said Paul Shipman, Rhode Island Red Cross spokesman.
