PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Lace up your skates -- Providence's downtown rink is open for business.

The Bank of America City Center rink adjacent to Kennedy Plaza has opened for the winter season and is offering limited hours beginning Thursday afternoon. The rink will be open all day Friday.

Members of the Brown University Bears hockey team will be at the rink on Friday afternoon to skate with the public and sign autographs.

Normal hours are Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The rink is open on all holidays throughout the winter season.

Rental skates are available. Admission is free for city residents on the first Saturday of every month.
