PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Rhode Island's first round of routine mosquito tests in 2012 shows no signs of West Nile Virus or Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE).
The test results were released by the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management Thursday.
Weekly testing will continue throughout the summer and fall to monitor the threat of mosquito-borne illness.
The DEM recommends Rhode Islanders take precautions to avoid mosquito bites and to eliminate mosquito breeding grounds on their properties.
