SCOTUS: no delay in Pleau case
Scheduled to be turned over to feds May 29

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- The U.S. Supreme Court has denied a request to delay the surrender of accused killer Jason Pleau to federal authorities.
According to a release from U.S. Attorney Peter Neronha Thursday afternoon, Supreme Court Associate Justice Stephen Breyer denied the request by Gov. Lincoln Chafee and Pleau for a stay in the case.
Pleau is accused of shooting and killing David Main outside of a Woonsocket bank in 2010. Gov. Chafee has fought to keep Pleau in state custody, because he could face the death penalty if convicted on federal charges.
Pleau is scheduled to be turned over to federal authorities for arraignment on May 29th.
