PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - There's a new program in Providence that's reducing unemployment and helping the environment at the same time.
The Green Pathways out of Poverty Partnership helps low-income, jobless residents find work by training them in green-job language and other skills.
Participants are taught how to tear down buildings, install insulation and seal homes, over a 16 week long period.
When the $3 million dollar program is complete, 300 people will have the training to get a job in the green industry.
