PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - The trial is underway for a lawsuit against a major Rhode Island company.

Providence-based Textron is being sued by a Vermont woman whose husband suffered a traumatic brain injury when he was thrown from a swerving golf cart in 2006.

Textron manufactured the golf cart.

According to the lawsuit, the company should be held liable for not warning people about riding on the back of the cart, where the golf bags are stored.

Textron is arguing that the man should have known better than to stand on a moving vehicle, since he was a school bus driver.
