PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - A North Providence man was arraigned Monday in connection with a weekend crash that injured a teenager who was riding a bicycle.
Joseph Castro, 21, was charged with three felony counts, including driving under the influence, reckless driving, and leaving the scene of an accident involving personal injury.
Police allege Castro was driving drunk on Smith Street in Providence around 1 a.m. Sunday when his SUV struck a teenager riding a bicycle.
According to The Providence Journal , police say the teen suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Castro did not enter a plea during his arraignment in Providence District Court Monday. He was released on $10,000 personal recognizance.
Castro is due back in court in November.
