PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- More than 120 middle school students from Providence will be visiting the Statehouse and presenting their ideas to make the capital city better.

The students from 23 different classes all participated in the non-profit group Generation Citizen, which encourages young people to be engaged in their communities.

They plan to visit the Statehouse on Monday and to meet with General Treasurer Gina Raimondo. They will also present their own projects on topics such as school safety, public transit and gang violence.
