PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Curt and Shonda Schilling will return as Honorary Chairs of the 36th Annual Meeting Street Telethon this year.
The former Red Sox ace pitcher and his wife co-chaired last year's event, and will be joined again by kids from Meeting Street and their families.
The Schillings' experience with a child with Asperger's Syndrome prompted Shonda to write "The Best Kind of Different: Our Family's Journey With Asperger's Syndrome."
Mike Montecalvo and Susan Roberts will co-host the telethon, presented by Cardi's Furniture , which will air live on WPRI-12 on Saturday, January 28th, from 7-11pm.
Meeting Street supports more than 3,000 special-needs children each year and is devoted to providing personalized services to meet each student's unique needs. Located in South Providence, Meeting Street has been working for more than 60 years.
