PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- A man who was shot in the head at a Providence housing complex last Wednesday night has died.

Providence Police Major Keith Tucker tells Eyewitness News that 26-year-old Ralph Joseph was shot at about 11:00 p.m. outside of 51 Salmon St.

Joseph died from his injuries Friday at Rhode Island Hospital, becoming the city's third homicide victim.

Tucker said that the investigation into the shooting continues, and no further information was available.

The city's fourth homicide was reported just a day later, as 32-year-old Ivan Tavares was shot and killed Saturday outside of a Cranston Street auto parts shop.  Police have identified a suspect in that shooting and are actively searching for him.
