RI to receive $317,000 for job training

Money will train people for environmental careers

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Rhode Island is set to receive $317,000 for environmental job training.

U.S. Sen. Jack Reed is scheduled to join Gov. Lincoln Chafee and a representative of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to announce the grant Tuesday morning in Providence.

The money will go toward efforts to train people for careers in environmental protection.

Providence Mayor Angel Taveras and U.S. representatives David Cicilline and James Langevin are also expected to attend the event.
