PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Foundation has received a $25,000 grant to support its mobile breast education and cancer screening program.

The grant from the Amgen Foundation will help cover costs of the Hope Bus, which visits hospitals, community centers, senior centers and businesses and makes stops at events throughout Rhode Island.

The outreach bus provides breast health education, information and services, including screenings through the state Department of Health.

Maria Gemma, executive director of the foundation, says the grant will help the foundation reach women who can't access care.

Tony Pankau, vice president of Amgen's operations, says the Hope Bus provides services and support vital in the fight against breast cancer.

The 38-foot, bright pink recreational vehicle is also sometimes known as the "Breast Bus."
