PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The head of a panel examining the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation in the aftermath of the collapse of Curt Schilling's video game company says the panel's report will be released in two weeks.

According to The Providence Journal , Rhode Island Public Expenditure Council head John Simmons says he'll meet with Gov. Lincoln Chafee before making the report public, probably during the week of Sept. 17.

Chafee called for the analysis of the RIEDC, which guaranteed a $75 million loan to the company before it failed.

Simmons says the council has conducted interviews and researched operations at the economic development agency. He expects the report will focus on how to remedy problems.

The co-chairman of a legislative economic development committee, State Sen. James Sheehan, has called for major changes at the agency.
