PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- Providence police are still on the lookout for a man accused of robbing a bank on  the East Side.

The Sovereign Bank on Elmgrove Avenue was held up just before 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 18 by  suspect wearing a disguise.

Police describe the suspect as an Asian or Indian male standing about 5'6". During the crime, he was wearing a dark-colored wig, a multi-colored striped shirt, hoop earrings, dark glasses, and a gold bracelet. Officers believe the bracelet is related to the Hindu religion.

The suspect fled on foot towards Wayland Avenue with an undetermined amount of cash. No weapon was shown during the robbery.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect is asked to contact Capt. Michael Correia of the Providence Police Department at (401) 243-6276.
