PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - A triple homicide investigation is underway after police say three people were found shot to death inside a Providence apartment.
Police were called to the scene at 151 General Street just before 10:30 p.m. Monday for reports of a shooting.
According to investigators, Shemeeka Barros, 22, Michael Martin, 23, and Damien Colon, 22, were found dead inside.
Police said Barros and Martin shared the apartment and Colon was visiting.
"This is crazy. My sister did not deserve this," Telesha LeTourneau said through a steady stream of tears. "She was a good person. My nieces have no mom now."
Three children were in the apartment at the time of the shooting. Police said they were in another room at the time of the shooting and were unhurt. Officers removed the children from the home and referred them to Family Services.
"We're doing everything we can to make sure we bring the people to justice, and that something like this doesn't happen in our city again" said Providence Mayor Angel Taveras.
So far, police have not reported any suspects or motives in the shooting.
