PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- Providence police are ending their "do not tag" overnight parking list.
Police say they will start phasing out the list on Sunday as the city expands its pilot overnight parking program.
The 'do not tag' policy allowed residents to alert police when guests would be parking on the street overnight, so they wouldn't get tickets.
Now, police say residents will have to purchase a visitor parking permit. It costs $25, and is good for up to five nights per month.
