Police to crack down on DUI statewide

DOT, Mass. State Police to help in effort

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Police across Rhode Island and the Department of Transportation plan to launch a statewide crackdown on drunk driving this weekend.

DOT officials said the crackdown will include numerous, high visibility patrols across the state.

Eyewitness News has also learned Massachusetts State Police plan to provide a mobile B.A.T. unit, which allows police to conduct widespread breathalyzer tests.
