PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Tonight, three Providence groups are gathering to rally for peace, after a string of recent violence in the city.
Project: Night Vision and Children's Friend organized the peace rally set for 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night on Point Street.
The organizations put together the event after more than a dozen shootings in the city in recent weeks, with a 13-year-old boy among the victims -- grazed by a bullet while walking down the street with his brother.
Director Kobi Dennis of Project: Night Vision has told Eyewitness News the group tries to give young people more outlets and things to do in an effort to decrease such violence.
