PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- Campaign signs are going up across Rhode Island for the Congressional District 1 race, but not all of the signs were made in Rhode Island.

Eyewitness News found some posters at Democrat Anthony Gemma's campaign headquarters were printed in Fall River. Gemma, who is challenging Rep. David Cicilline, is running on a platform of putting Rhode Islanders back to work.

The Gemma campaign says it uses numerous printing companies, including some in Rhode Island.

Congressman Cicilline says he wanted all of his campaign signs made in Rhode Island.

Republican challenger Brendan Doherty's campaign says most of his campaign signs were made in Rhode Island, except for one $400 print job that was done out of state.

Eyewitness News Political Analyst Joe Fleming says printing campaign materials locally can help candidates, but it is not a deal breaker.

"It might be a small factor, but it's not a big factor in this race at all," Fleming said Wednesday. "There are going to be a lot of other things over the next few months that determines who wins the Democratic primary."
