PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- After a lengthy legal battle, Monet Lounge in Providence has been given the go-ahead to once again open its doors.

The state has overturned the Providence Board of Licenses' order to close down the troubled night club.

The Board of Licenses said the club will now be allowed to open back up. It's not currently clear when, or if the name will remain the same.

Monet has been closed since August, after a man was shot and killed in the parking lot.

Before that, it was closed for a few months after a brawl involving more than 50 individuals broke out in the VIP section of the club.
