PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Fifteen medical marijuana registration applications have been rejected by the Health Department.  After reviewing the applications, Dr. David Gifford and the Heath Department found many requirements that were not followed.

Each application exceeded the 25-page limit; nine applicants did not meet the minimum scoring requirements, and other applicants lacked nonprofit status.

The state is restarting the application process to issue licenses for up to three medical marijuna centers in October.
