PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- Rhode Island's governor and Providence's mayor donned chef's toques Tuesday to join in serving an early Thanksgiving dinner to struggling local residents at Johnson and Wales University's downtown Providence campus.
Gov. Lincoln Chafee and Mayor Angel Taveras dished up meals along with JWU students and staff.
Hundreds of residents attended the dinner.
The university has been holding its "Thanksgiving Dinner For Those In Need" for the past twenty-one years, when just 400 meals were served.
