PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - A local woman who says she was wrongly convicted in the murder of her young daughter is appealing for a new trial.
Kimberly Mawson is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday afternoon.
After serving three years at the ACI for the murder of her 19-month of daughter, Jade, Mawson was released on bail in June. The state Supreme Court ordered a judge to consider a new trial for Mawson after new evidence surfaced that could implicate her ex-boyfriend in the child's death.
