PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - The 2012 Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular brought record attendance to the Roger Williams Park Zoo.
110,169 people visited the 5,000 pumpkin display in Providence, despite the rain arriving for the first week and hurricane conditions later in the month.
The event ran from October 4 - November 3.
The previous record of 107,646 people was set in 2010.
This year's theme was "All the World's a Stage." It featured scenes from iconic and popular movies, Broadway hits and television.
Proceeds from the event support the Zoo's environmental education and conservation efforts both locally and around the globe as well as Zoo improvements.
